This coffee touch football thing is really cute, but what if we did something for those of us who are allergic to sports?

Pot luck? Talent show? Gentle stroll?

Spent all day yesterday singing and learning music. There's legitimately nothing better.

Except maybe for right now, lying in bed and reading a book. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be. It's peaceful.

Obsessed. Ob. Sessed.

Any tenor singing Tonio, the hero of Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment,” has to knock off a string of nine high C’s in the joyous aria “Ah! mes amis.”

On Thursday at the Metropolitan Opera
, when “Fille” returned in Laurent Pelly’s production, Mr. Camarena’s breezy performance of the aria, complete with clarion, effortless high C’s, was so thrilling that the audience broke into an ecstatic ovation. So after exchanging glances with the conductor, Enrique Mazzola, Mr. Camarena sang it again: 18 high C’s for the price of nine.

Previous Name: Lorelai "Rory" Gilmore
Myth: Gilmore Girls
Past Life Information: Rory's mother Lorelai was effectively disowned from her family when she became pregnant at 16 and refused to marry the baby's father. As a result, Rory was raised lovingly and scrappily, becoming the daughter of their chosen small town family, Stars Hollow. It's possible that no mother and daughter had ever been closer; they were best friends. A naturally bright girl, Rory had dreams of Harvard, which meant taking every educational advantage she could get, like an exclusive private high school. Lorelai reached out to her estranged parents for tuition assistance and they agreed -- on the condition that Lorelai and Rory remain in regular contact. Slowly, family wounds began to heal. And Rory grew up. She found love with a series of boys -- traditional Dean, brilliant rebel Jess, trust fund raconteur Logan -- friends and competitors in Lane and Paris -- and father figures in diner owner Luke and a more solid relationship with her biological father Christopher. She graduated from Yale (the Harvard dreams didn't quite work out) and set out to become a reporter -- her lifelong dream -- leaving her beloved town, and mother, behind. At least for now.

Current Name: Ansel Wagner
Age: 21
Occupation: Singing teacher and tenor
Personality: Ansel is a bit intense. He likes to know everything about the things he cares about, and he doesn't necessarily need to share that information with anyone else, so he has a tendency to self-isolate and appear aloof. But he's a good egg on the inside. He's very family-focused and influenced by family; that's why he always took singing lessons seriously, that's why he's deeply in love with opera, that's why he's a performer. He plays violin too, but the expression of voice, the un-amplified divinity of performance rituals, just feels so special to him. He's shy when he's not on stage but it's not because of uncertainty -- it's because he doesn't know why anyone would pay him attention at all.

Background: Ansel is one of the Wagner clan -- the first generation children of German immigrants who own and operate a crumbling opera house. Ansel still lives there and loves it, so much. He's an opera nerd, a beautiful singer, a big reader, and a big fan of his siblings. He's a bit of a late bloomer on the personal side of things -- he's never really dated, never really partied, had his first drop of alcohol on his 21st birthday -- but he doesn't really mind. He's moving through life at his own pace.
